Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement with LG Electronics to supply technology for their new home, the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.
The project, which will be led by the professional area of LG Electronics Spain, LG Partner 360, will provide professional displays, televisions, and outdoor signage solutions in every corner of the 67,000-seater stadium.
According to a statement on the Spanish soccer club’s official website, the objective of the deal is to make a qualitative leap in the use of technology which will enhance the spectator’s audio and visual experience, both at soccer matches and at other events held in the arena.
The venue is expected to be used by Atletico from the beginning of the 2017-2018 La Liga season, having been closed since 2004.
LG will be joining the project alongside Philips, who are in charge of everything related to lighting in the stadium.
Atletico Madrid are currently third in La Liga, Spanish soccer’s top flight, with two games to play.
