Streaming platform will show European soccer’s second-tier club competition.

DAZN gets German and Austrian rights to Europa League

Over-the-top (OTT) streaming service DAZN has secured the German and Austrian rights to the Uefa Europa League, Europe's second-tier continental club soccer competition. 

The three-year agreement becomes effective at the start of the 2018/19 European soccer season. 

Under the deal, Perform Group-owned DAZN will show will show all 205 games, including 190 exclusively, with 15 games screened in parallel by free-to-air channel Sport1. DAZN replaces Sky Deutschland as the lead broadcaster of the competition. 

The financial terms of the deal have not been made public.

DAZN has a growing portfolio of European soccer rights in Austria and Germany, including live coverage of the Uefa Champions League and Fifa World Cup qualifiers, as well as highlights of Spain’s La Liga, France’s Ligue 1 and Italy’s Serie A.
