Fox releases Kayo Sports OTT service

Foxtel has released its new over-the-top (OTT) streaming service previously described by its chief executive as ‘the Netflix of sports’.

Kayo Sports will offer coverage for more than 50 sports, including Australian cricket, the Australian Football League (AFL), the National Rugby League (NRL), the National Football League (NFL) and the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Foxtel has struck deals to offer both ESPN and BeIN Sports Australia output alongside the Fox Sports portfolio to create a new OTT streaming service in time for the start of Australia’s cricket Test series against India next month.

Subscribers are being offered a beta version of the product, with two package tiers available at AUS$35 (US$25.5) and AUS$25 (US$18). Kayo Sports offers a number of features including split screen viewing, ‘spoiler-free’ mode and key moment notifications. Consumers also can access the Foxtel content without the need for a cable television package.

The service will be available via Apple and Google mobile devices, Windows and Mac computers, and Google Chromecast devices.
