Royal Antwerp nets Tripleplay partnership

Top-flight Belgian soccer side Royal Antwerp have chosen Tripleplay to deliver an internet protocol television (IPTV) and digital signage solution throughout a new 5,362-seater stand at their Bosuil Stadium.

Corporate boxes, executive suites and speciality function rooms will be fitted with Tripleplay’s Interactive IPTV Portal, which will allow the Belgian Pro League club to deliver personalised TV and content to guests.

Digital signage and IPTV will be delivered in the stand concourse, throughout restaurants and the media centre, ensuring guests and journalists can access live TV, sponsorship content, advertisements and live interviews. In addition, Royal Antwerp will be able to deliver live and stored video-on-demand (VOD) and streams.

Neither the financial terms nor the duration of the contract have been released.

“I am extremely excited to announce the upcoming project with Royal Antwerp FC,” said Roberto Blesa, manager for Central Europe at Tripleplay. “We have deployments in more than 60 sports stadiums and arenas world-wide and our tried-and-tested solution lends itself perfectly to Bosuil Stadium.

“The Tripleplay IPTV and Digital Signage solution will deliver modern and professional TV services to both fans in the stadium and important visitors making use of corporate suites and VIP areas.”

The addition of the new stand takes Antwerp’s total stadium capacity to well over 12,000 seats, along with 800 indoor corporate seats.
