Top-flight German soccer side Schalke have announced a long-term partnership with Interstuhl-owned office chair brand Backforce covering their esports team.
The deal will see Backforce become the sleeve sponsor of FC Schalke 04 Esports through June 2022.
In addition to exposure on the sleeve of Schalke’s esports jerseys, Backforce will also benefit from a range of extensive advertising and marketing rights.
Alexander Jobst, board member for marketing and communications at the Bundesliga club, said: “As Interstuhl’s new brand, Backforce brings together the knowledge, expertise and experience of more than five decades and unites them into a product that meets the high demands of professional gamers. I am pleased to welcome Backforce as another strong partner at FC Schalke 04 Esports.”
Schalke were one of the first soccer sides make a move into esports back in May 2016. The team competes across a range of gaming titles including the League of Legend European Championship (LEC) series.
