Exclusive global deal secures data collection rights for Italian soccer’s top flight.

Serie A names Genius Sports as betting data partner

Sports technology company Genius Sports has been appointed the official betting partner of Serie A, Italian soccer’s top division.

It means Betgenius, the sportsbook arm of Genius Sports, will have exclusive data collection rights, enabling it to gather match data via its in-stadium pitch side technology, which is instantly sent via a live feed to licensed sportsbook operators.

The data feed will allow bookmakers to optimise markets with premium content and data, giving customers more betting choice for Serie A games.

Additionally, to provide greater control and visibility over the use of its betting data, Serie A will launch its first rights enforcement initiative, which includes identifying and ejecting unauthorised data collectors operating in stadiums during games.

Serie A now joins England’s Premier League and the English Football League (EFL), as well as the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL), as major soccer leagues Genius Sports has exclusive betting data rights to. The technology company also teamed up with Nascar in May to deliver its first ever live betting platform.
