Uefa, European soccer’s governing body, has expanded distribution for its over-the-top (OTT) service in an effort to make its content more widely available to users at home during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Uefa.tv has now been added to smart TVs as well as Apple TV, Android TV, and Amazon Fire streaming platforms.
The soccer body's streaming service has also expanded its content offering with more classic games from its portfolio of club and national team competitions.
Archival footage and documentaries will also be available across all of Uefa’s digital platforms.
Craig Hepburn, Uefa’s digital transformation lead, said: “Proud of the team for working around the clock to provide a whole new calendar of classic matches for fans to enjoy at this time when live sport is on hold.”
The digital content expansion comes after the soccer body recently decided to postpone all three of its upcoming major club competition finals due to be held in May and moved the Euro 2020 national team tournament to 2021.
