English top-flight soccer side Watford have partnered with the soccer-based social networking and media app Dongqiudi, which becomes the club’s official media partner in China.
The two parties will collaborate on content production, fan service and other interactive experiences, designed to give supporters a better content experience, while expanding the Premier League club’s presence in the country.
It is the latest venture with an English top-flight team for Dongqiudi. It already works with Crystal Palace, paying a reported UK£1 million (US$1.21 million) per season to be their sleeve sponsor, and has previously teamed up with defending champions Manchester City, which also saw it help the club to create an ecommerce service to sell official merchandise in China.
On the pitch, Watford are rock bottom of the Premier League and without a win so far this season. Their next game sees them travel to face relegation rivals Norwich City on 8th November, where a win would seem them leapfrog the Canaries.
